BORROWING MATERIAL
Most material can be borrowed from the library providing you have a current Student, Staff ID card with you.
Library material can be checked out at the Library Issue Desk for the following borrowing periods:
Long Loans: 14 days for undergraduates. 28 days for full time postgraduates, master students and staff.
Short Loans: One week. (There may be exceptions to this rule for some patron categories)
2 Hour Loans: All users can borrow/consult this material but it cannot be removed from the library.
Restricted Material: Reference material, Theses, Dissertations, journals and some official material cannot be borrowed but can be consulted in the Library.
You can check your borrowing entitlements at the Library Issue Desk.
Interlibrary Loans.
Material not held in the library can be requested from other libraries on interlibrary loan. Requests can be sent to the following email account: loans@ait.ie.

Library cardholders may renew their own materials online. All material may be renewed except for materials with reserves and materials on which you owe fines.
YES Indeed. You can place a reservation or hold on any item which is out on loan to another borrower/patron. Check with the Library desk for more details or possible alternative titles if you are seeking material for a assignment with a looming deadline.
FINES
We try to encourage all our patrons to return books on or before their due date. However, it is library policy to invoice/bill for lost items.
If the library is closed you can then use the book drop facility outside the Main Library, we also provide a book drop facility in the Nursing Building.
Please note that you are responsible for all material borrowed on your Library Account until the item/s is returned and cleared.
