Qualitative research is generally used to gain deeper, often more personal insights into a topic. It usually aims to discover how people feel or interact with certain aspects of their lives, or a service they use. Qualitative research is usually more exploratory in nature, and seeks to discover underlying reasons, behaviours and motivations. Common methods of obtaining data is through interviews and focus groups.
