 Library Information Sessions can help with:

  • 1:1 support consultations for literature searching & finding sources

Sessions can be booked by academics for their modules or by Class Reps for their class or by groups or individual students or staff.

All sessions are delivered on Zoom at the moment. Join the Library's Zoom channel on the day and time of the programmed session. 

Academic Writing Centre

Academic writing requires a different skill set than normal writing. The Library has created a guide that will lead you through what's involved. The guide covers how to plan your assignment, How to read and evaluate information, How to paraphrase, and how to make the transition from school writing to what expected for third level. The guide is packed full of tips and hints with useful videos. Check out the guide here

There is also The Academic Writing Centre located in the main campus near the canteen it can help you with:

  • One-to-one tutorials on essay writing

  • Writing structure

  • Grammar, punctuation & spelling

  • Brainstorming your essay topic and outline

  • Structuring an argument

  • Developing your ideas/ thesis statement

  • Improving sentence structure and punctuation

  • Avoiding plagiarism

  • Using secondary sources

  • Editing and proofreading techniques
